A woman in Mumbai reported a troubling incident in which she detailed her unsettling encounter with a suspicious police officer while travelling home from college. A video of the incident went viral on October 16. The woman’s sister was alone in an auto-rickshaw near MIDC when a man claiming to be a police officer entered the vehicle. According to the woman, the officer confronted her sister about her vape, asserting it was illegal and demanding INR 50,000 to let her go without charges. In a shocking turn of events, he sat beside her and even began vaping from her device, attempting to intimidate her with threats. The officer allegedly stated that if she couldn't pay the fine, he would take her to the Powai police station.
