The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), on Saturday, May 25, announced two scheduled water cuts starting next week. As a precautionary measure, a five per cent water cut will be implemented from Thursday, May 30, followed by a 10 per cent water cut from Wednesday, June 5. This measure aims to extend the existing water stock, which is critically low at 9.69 per cent of the annual requirement. Currently, 1,40,202 million litres of water are available in the dams supplying Mumbai. The BMC emphasised that the water cut will remain until satisfactory rainfall replenishes the reservoirs. Mumbai Water Cut News Update: BMC Announces 24-Hour Water Cut in Eastern Suburbs; Check Dates, Timings and List of Affected Areas.
