Mumbai Water Cut News: BMC Begins 5% Water Cut From Today, Supply To Be Slashed by 10% From June 5
The BMC has started a 5 per cent water cut in Mumbai from May 30, with plans to reduce supply by 10 per cent from June 5 due to low reservoir levels.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has implemented a 5 per cent water cut across Mumbai starting today, May 30. This decision comes in response to the depleting water levels in the city’s reservoirs. Further measures will reduce the water supply by 10 per cent from June 5. With only 9.69 per cent of the required water stock available as of May 25, totalling 1,40,202 million litres out of 14,47,363 million litres per annum, these measures aim to prolong water availability amidst the ongoing dry spell.
