Heavy rainfall through the night battered Mumbai and caused waterlogging in several areas of the city. Amid the heavy downpour the city witnessed, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has declared a holiday for the first session in all schools and colleges of the city and suburbs. The civic body also said that the decision for the next session will be announced after reviewing the situation. BMC also said that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai today, July 8. It also asked people not to believe in any rumours and to step out of the house only if necessary. BMC announcement: Heavy rain is also expected today. In order to avoid inconvenience to students, a holiday for the first session is declared for all BMC & Pvt schools and colleges in the Mumbai. The decision for the next session will be announced after reviewing the situation.
