Heavy incessant rainfall has been lashing several parts of Mumbai and its neighbouring areas since last night, with waterlogging reported in various places. The heavy rainfall the city witnessed overnight has reportedly resulted in train delays, traffic congestion on highways and flooding in areas across the city. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), a user said there had been heavy rainfall with loud thunder from 2 AM in Chembur. Another user said the railway tracks have been underwater at Bhandup and Kurla stations. A third user stated that Mumbai received heavy rainfall above 150 mm in several areas. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thundershowers across the city and suburbs today, July 8.
