Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Mumbai last night, leading to waterlogging in a few places. The heavy downpour, which began on Saturday, June 8 and continued on Sunday, June 9, marked the onset of monsoon in Mumbai. An India Meteorological Department (IMD) official confirmed that the southwest monsoon arrived in the maximum city on Sunday, two days ahead of its normal schedule. The heavy rainfall battered the city and led to waterlogging in several areas.
