A locksmith had his nose fractured after allegedly being assaulted by a sub-inspector over a pending payment of Rs 20 at Manikpur Police Station, leading to the suspension of the officer. The incident occurred on May 16, inside the police station premises, where the locksmith, Mohammad Ali Ansari, was reportedly dragged and physically abused by the sub-inspector, identified as Raj Shekhar Salgare. Ansari recounted being attacked at the police station for demanding full payment from GRP personnel for key duplication services. Reportedly, despite attempts to seek help from senior officials, an FIR was only registered 12 days after the incident, ultimately resulting in the suspension of the accused policeman six days later following public outcry and pressure from local activists.
