A suburban train bound for CSMT derailed at Kalyan station in Thane district at around 9 pm on Friday. The incident involved the last coach of the Titwala-CSMT train as it approached platform number 2 at a slow speed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. According to Central Railway’s chief public relations officer, Swapnil Nila, the derailment caused disruptions on the mainline, leading to delayed services. The Mumbai division DRM confirmed the delays, attributing them to a technical issue and apologised for the inconvenience caused to passengers. Efforts are underway to restore normal train operations.
