At least four people died, and multiple were injured after a massive hoarding fell on a petrol pump amid heavy rain and dust storm in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area on Monday, May 13. Amid this, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Indian Railways have engaged in a blame game over land ownership. The BMC said the land on which the accident took place does not belong to it but to the railway police and that it will file a complaint against the railways and the advertising company in the matter under the Disaster Management Act. Soon after, the Central Railway denied land ownership and clarified that the hoarding was not on railway land. “This hoarding is not on Railway land and it is not in anyway related to Indian Railways,” (sic) it said in a post on X.
