Central Railway has announced a shift in slow local trains originating and ending at Dadar station starting September 15. Instead, 44 train sets will operate from the newly constructed Parel station to facilitate the widening of Platforms 1 and 2 at Dadar. This decision aims to improve crowd management and increase the platform width from 7 meters to 10.5 meters. The work is estimated to take two months with a budget of Rs 1 crore. The move will also allow for the provision of new escalators on Platform 1, benefiting the daily footfall of nearly 5 lakh passengers at Dadar station.
