In yet another incident of animal cruelty, a monkey was hanged to death in Shastri Nagar in Sarai Rohila of Delhi. A gut-wrenching video of the incident has since gone viral and prompted a flood of angry reactions on Twitter, with many asking for justice for the animal. Delhi police took a suo moto cognisance of the viral video and registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 429, IPC & Section 11, etc. The body of the dead monkey has been sent for a post-mortem report to the Asola Wildlife Sanctuary. The sickening video was shared by Twitter user Asher R. Jesudoss who accused French expats and employees of France2tv, a news channel, of illegal hunting, relocation and filming of Rhesus Macaques in Delhi.
