Meerut: Kanwariyas Vandalise Car, Thrash Occupant After Vehicle Touches Kanwar, Police Respond After Video Goes Viral

Kanwariyas vandalized a car and attacked its occupant after the vehicle accidentally touched their Kanwar in Meerut, . The incident was captured on video, prompting a police response.

A video from Meerut has surfaced, showing a car being vandalised by Kanwariyas. The video of the incident that surfaced on July 26 captures four men who were travelling in the car. As the Kanwariyas began to attack with sticks, three of the men quickly fled the scene. However, one individual was caught and severely thrashed. The Kanwariyas have alleged that the car driver collided with them, causing damage to their Kanwars. Responding to the incident, the Meerut police said on X (formerly Twitter) that the car was travelling in the wrong direction and struck the Kanwars. He confirmed that the police intervened to de-escalate the situation, and neither party had filed any complaints.
