In a video that has gone viral on social media, workers of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) can be seen thrashing three hawkers in Kalyan after a teenager contacted them and said that the trio had physically harmed him.
The MNS members said that on Sunday, a youth identified as Kailash Ghanke from Vashind near Shahapur taluka in Thane district went to the hawkers to refund some defective things when they made the remark, "Marathi people always do like this." This sparked an altercation in which the hawkers manhandled him. Following that, he approached the local MNS workers, who had reportedly beaten up the hawkers. The Mahatma Phule police, on the other hand, have refuted MNS' assertion regarding the brawl between hawkers and youth. They filed a non-cognizable offence and served the hawkers with notices.
