Mamata Banerjee on Thursday refused to apply tilak on her forehead when she was welcomed in Mumbai at the third meeting of the opposition alliance INDIA, giving much ammunition to the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) as they criticise West Bengal CM. A video of this incident went viral on social media wherein all the guests were greeted at the hotel entrance with a tilak as part of the traditional Marathi-style welcome, to which Mamata Banerjee said no. Taking potshot at West Bengal CM, BJP's Amit Malviya tweeted, "Mamata Banerjee has no problem covering her head and reading namaaz but has a problem applying ‘tika’… She suffers from extreme Hindumisia." BJP Says West Bengal CM 'Suffering From Extreme Hindumisia'
Mamata Banerjee has no problem covering her head and reading namaaz but has a problem applying ‘tika’… She suffers from extreme Hindumisia. This is what Opposition’s ‘secularism’ is all about. Bengal is suffering her contempt for Hindus. Not surprised she insulted Rajbongshis… pic.twitter.com/znrIkLEffr
