The Municipal Corporation installed a statue of Gandhi made from scrap at the Commissionerate Square's 'I Love Meerut' selfie spot. The idea of building a statue out of garbage was amazing, but the execution was less so, as the statue turned out to be horrifying and frightening, while the face of Mahatma Gandhi appeared scary. The Corporation drew public outrage for erecting such a terrifying statue of the Father of the Nation. In response to the complaints, the Meerut Municipal Corporation recently removed the objectionable statue from the selfie spot.
