The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today, September 25, issued a red alert for Mumbai and predicted extremely heavy rainfall until Thursday, September 26. The weather agency also said that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and intense spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely in various parts of Maharashtra.
