Students of a government school in Bhiw Dhanora village, located in Maharashtra's Aurangabad district, are compelled to cross a river using makeshift thermocol rafts daily to attend classes.  A resident of the village has voiced frustration over the prolonged situation, attributing it to the impact of the Jayakwadi Dam construction that has led to the backwaters flowing into the village. Despite numerous appeals to the government, no substantial action has been taken. Approximately 50-60 settlements and around 200-300 people are affected by this issue, revealing the lack of adequate infrastructure. The dam's construction has necessitated this risky river crossing, with some families still residing on farms due to their dependence on agriculture.
