She was arrested earlier in the day following the viral circulation of an old video showing her brandishing a gun and threatening a farmer in Pune's Mulshi area on social media. The Khedkar family, recent purchasers of 25 acres of land in Mulshi taluka of Pune district, stands accused of trying to encroach upon a neighboring farmer’s land. Manorama Khedkar's daughter, Puja Kedkar faces allegations of submitting counterfeit disability and Other Backward Class (OBC) certificates to qualify for the civil services exam. There are also reports suggesting she submitted a certificate claiming mental illness.
