In Lucknow’s Gosainganj area, four men disguised as sadhus were brutally thrashed by villagers after being caught looting a shopkeeper. The incident took place in Gangakheda village on Saturday morning. The thugs had earlier sedated a shopkeeper in Mahurakala village with drugged ‘prasad,’ stealing cash and three sacks of mustard seeds. The following day, they were recognised by locals in a neighbouring village. The villagers apprehended the suspects, beat them with hands, slippers, and shoes, and recorded the incident before handing them over to the police. Identified as Akash, Akshay, Rakesh, and Amit, all from Samsapur village in Meerut, the men confessed to posing as sadhus to deceive and rob unsuspecting villagers.
