Mumbai, October 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the Kautilya Economic Conclave on Friday, October 4, at around 6:30 pm at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi. He will also address the gathering on the occasion. According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the third edition of the Kautilya Economic Conclave will be held from October 4 to 6 October. The Kautilya Economic Conclave is being organised by the Institute of Economic Growth in partnership with the Ministry of Finance.

On Thursday, October 3, the Union Cabinet approved giving five more languages the status of 'classical language'—Marathi, Bengali, Pali, Prakrit, and Assamese. With this cabinet decision, the number of languages with the status will nearly double from six to 11. The languages that had the tag earlier were Tamil, Sanskrit, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Odia. Tamil was granted the status in 2004, and the last language to get it was Odia in 2014.

The Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta on Thursday informed the Delhi High Court that renowned climate activist Sonam Wangchuk and his associates have been released from detention, and their movements are no longer restricted. A bench led by Chief Justice Manmohan was overseeing the case, where the Solicitor General (SG) confirmed that the order issued by the Delhi Police Commissioner's office on September 30, which prohibited public gatherings, had also been withdrawn.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) on Thursday released a video of an airstrike the air force launched on the Bint Jabal municipality building in Beirut where, as per Israeli authorities, several terrorists of Hezbollah were operating. The IDF, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) said that many weapons used by Hezbollah were stored in the building.
