The Noida police recently arrested two men for harassing a woman journalist in the city. The arrests come after the woman journalist narrated her ordeal on X (formerly Twitter). Sharing updates about their arrest, the Noida police said both accused were arrested within 24 hours of receiving the information on social media. They also said that they seized the motorcycle used by the accused. In her posts on X, the journalist said she was harassed while waiting for a cab on August 14. She claimed that a biker passed by and made a comment asking, "kya rate legi," without stopping. In another incident, a man greeted her with "hello," which she initially took as a possible fan of her journalistic work. However, the situation turned distressing when the man said, "Don't be shocked. Please calm down." ‘Kya Rate Legi’: Woman Journalist Harassed in Noida by Bike-Borne Men, Says Approached by Random Guys Twice at Delhi Metro Stations.

Journalist Experienced Harassment While Waiting for a Cab
Trigger warning: Harassment
1. I was waiting for my cab near DLF m, Sector -18, Noida. A bike crossed and the guy sitting at the back waved and asked 'kya rate legi'. He didn't even stop and everything happened within a flick of seconds.
Thankfully, I'm back at home safely rn.

Another Harassment Incident in Noida
'Maine aapko walk karte dekha. Apa mujhe bahut acchi lagin. To maine socha rok kar baat ki jaaye. Kya pata koi chance ban jaaye'
I was so shocked with his audacity. I politely said I'm not interested and this is not the right way and walked off.

"Harassment Isn’t About What I Was Wearing; It’s About Living in Fear"
All of this happened this month only. I'll not be defensive about what I was wearing or what the time was. Because none of that matters. What matters is that I and a lot of women like me live in constant fear. And we have no energy left to report each & every case.
