West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has warned that the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-murder case could be handed over to the CBI if the police fail to solve it by Sunday, August 18.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has expressed deep concern over the tragic incident at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, where the body of a 31-year-old trainee doctor was found on August 9. Speaking on the matter, Banerjee stated that she was immediately informed by the Kolkata Police Commissioner and has called for swift action, including setting up a fast-track court. The investigation led to the arrest of Sanjay Roy, a civic police volunteer, on August 11 after his Bluetooth earphone was found at the crime scene. The Chief Minister has warned that if the case isn't resolved by Sunday, August 18, it will be handed over to the CBI.
