In response, the police said the reports claiming the Kolkata Police informed the family about a possible suicide are false, and the victim's family confirmed the call about the possible suicide did not come from the police. The Kolkata Police also clarified that they did not cremate the body of the deceased. The family carried out the cremation, the police said.
