In a case of suspected kidney selling scam, a 31-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, who was trapped by loan apps, was duped into selling his one of two kidneys in Andhra Pradesh. The victim, who is from Guntur, has said that he had donated his kidney through an agent who told him about an advertisement on Facebook. The so-called agent promised INR 30 lakh to the auto driver for his kidney. Speaking to local media, the victim said that fake documents were created following which his surgery took place at Vijaya Super Speciality Hospital in Vijayawada, However, seven months after the operation, he received INR 50,000 only.
