Officials from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on Tuesday, July 16, conducted inspections of various food establishments in Khan Market, one of Delhi's most famous and expensive markets. The inspections covered restaurants, cafes, grocery stores and food stalls. During the inspection, Food Safety Officer Sunny Rao and his team collected food samples for testing in their food safety van. The detailed testing results are expected in 15 days. "We adjudicate the samples that fail. If a sample is found unsafe, there is a penalty of up to Rs. 10 lakh, and there can also be imprisonment," Rao told news agency ANI.
