In an unfortunate incident in Kerala, a mahout (elephant trainer) was allegedly trampled to death by an elephant. A disturbing video of the incident has also gone viral on social media. The viral clip shows the elephant turning against the mahout after the elephant trainer tries to get the animal to move into a different position for a tourist to ride the elephant. After the incident, the forest department filed a case against the illegal elephant safari centre in Idukki and issued a stop memo. The deceased man has been identified as Balakrishnan (62), a resident of Neeleswaram. As per reports, the mahout was killed by the elephant at Kerala Farm, a private elephant safari centre at Kallar, near Adimaly, in Idukki.
