A deadly landslide on the Kedarnath Dham road in Sonprayag, Uttarakhand, claimed five lives and left three others injured. Triggered by torrential rains, the landslide struck around 7:20 pm on September 9, trapping pilgrims returning from Kedarnath. As shown in the video shared by news agency ANI, rescue teams are currently working to clear the debris and ensure the safety of those stranded. The victims were passing through the national highway when the tragedy unfolded. Talking to ANI today, on September 10, Rudraprayag Additional District Magistrate Shyam Singh Rana confirmed that relief efforts are ongoing.
