In a horrifying incident, a 15-year-old girl was brutally murdered in Mutlu village, Somwarpet, in the Kodagu district of Karnataka. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Prakash, is currently on the run. The tragedy unfolded on Thursday when the minor girl was kidnapped while on her way to school. The suspect then took her to an area near the forest periphery and committed the gruesome act. In a chilling turn of events, he fled the scene with the girl’s severed head. It has been revealed that the girl’s engagement to the suspect had been thwarted by officials from the Women and Child Development department on May 9. The officials had also convinced the girl’s parents not to marry her off until she turned 18.
