In a major snub for Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, August 26, distanced itself from her recent remarks on the farmers' protest. In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Kangana Ranaut had made serious allegations, claiming "rapes were happening" during the farmers' protest against now-withdrawn three farm laws. Expressing disagreement with her remarks, the BJP said Ranaut is neither permitted nor authorised to make statements on party’s policy. The party added that Ranaut has been instructed to refrain from making such statements in the future.
