Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha was released from Tihar Jail on Tuesday night after the Supreme Court granted her bail in the Delhi excise policy case. The apex court, with Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan presiding, ordered her release under strict conditions, including the submission of her passport and regular attendance at trial proceedings. Kavitha, who had been in custody for five months, secured her release by furnishing a bail bond of INR 10 lakh each in the CBI and ED cases. The court stressed that she must not tamper with evidence or influence witnesses as the investigation continues.
