Jyoti Mishra, a trainee Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, addressed the confusion surrounding her identity in a recent statement. Jyoti Mishra clarified that she had been mistakenly identified as another individual of the same name who secured 432 ranks as a reserve candidate in the IAS exam. Mishra, who is currently serving as a third secretary at the Indian embassy in Madrid, emphasised that she cracked the UPSC exam in 2021 with a rank of 432 in the general category. She said, “I am a general candidate who qualified for UPSC 2021 with 432 rank in the second list. The Jyoti who secured 432 rank in the first list is an IAS officer from a reserved seat. She hails from Mahendragarh, Haryana, whereas I hail from Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. I became a civil servant through hard work and fair means.” Jyoti Mishra also warned she is considering legal action against those who continue to harm her reputation through false accusations.
