Members of Kurmi community gathered outside Muri Junction railway station (near Ranchi) to push their demand of getting Kurmi community included in Scheduled Caste (ST) status list. Several trains in Jharkhand came to a standstill as protesters sat on railway tracks raising slogans. They had earlier announced an indefinite "Rail Roko" agitation over alleged apathy of government towards their demands from today.
