Rajdeep alias Raja Yadav, a Janta Dal United (JDU) leader in Bihar, was assaulted by goons in broad daylight on a busy street in Bhagalpur. The incident took place near Parbati Chowk in the university area. The attackers dragged Yadav through the market and assaulted him with sticks and rods, even tearing his clothes in the process. Despite Yadav's pleas for mercy, the assailants continued to beat him with sticks, rods, and fists. After they were satisfied with the beating, the goons forced Yadav to apologise by making him hold their feet. Adding to the humiliation, the attackers recorded the entire incident and later circulated the video online. He was admitted to the hospital after the thrashing. After he complained to the police, investigation was launched and the police detained an accused Chander Yadav.
