Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament, Jayant Sinha, expressed surprise on Wednesday at receiving a show cause notice from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The notice questioned his absence from voting in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 and his non-participation in election campaigning. In response to the letter from BJP’s Jharkhand General Secretary, Aditya Sahu, Sinha clarified that he had voted through the postal ballot process due to being overseas for personal commitments. He expressed surprise not only at receiving the letter but also at its release to the media. Sinha, the sitting MP from the Hazaribagh seat in Jharkhand, addressed Sahu’s accusation of his lack of participation in organizational work and election campaigning since Manish Jaiswal was declared the candidate from the Hazaribagh Lok Sabha seat. He stated that he had not been invited to any party events, rallies, or organizational meetings. He emphasized his unwavering support for the party’s choice. Sinha expressed his willingness to participate in election activities, stating that the party could have contacted him. However, he noted that no senior party official or MP/MLA from Jharkhand had reached out to him following his announcement on March 2. He reiterated that he had not been invited to any party events, rallies, or organizational meetings. Jayant Sinha Issued Show-Cause Notice by BJP for Not Taking Part in Campaigning for 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.
