Internet services have been shut down in Telangana's Asifabad. According to reports, the Telangana police have appealed to people to maintain peace after violent clashes erupted in Asifabad's Jainoor village following a bandh called by Adivasi organisations. As per news reports, communal tensions erupted in Jainoor village after a tribal woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Telangana. A bandh was called after the incident by Adivasi organisations, including Tudum Dibba. The bandh is said to have turned violent, with widespread arson, stone-pelting, and property damages being reported. It is reported that the clashes erupted after members of the Adivasi community started attacking properties belonging to people of other communities, including Muslims. A video surfaced online shows properties belonging to Muslims in Jainoor village being set on fire in retaliation for the alleged sexual assault of a tribal woman by a man named Sheikh Maqdoom, an auto driver.
