When you cancel a train ticket- be it a confirm, RAC or Waiting, you pay a cancellation charge. But what happens if you cancel a ticket after the chart is prepared or missed boarding the train on which you have booked a ticket? You can still claim a full refund. To claim a refund, passengers will have to follow a procedure. Individuals who need to cancel tickets are required to file a Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR) online on the IRCTC portal. The refund will be processed at the bank of the customer who has made payment from their respective bank accounts. The tickets will be refunded within a time period of 5 days. The people who have got tickets from the counter also need to file TDR online. Once the process is completed, customers can collect from the reservation counter.
