Internet Banned in Jharkhand: State Government Suspends Mobile Internet During Graduate Level Exam on September 21 and 22 To Prevent Malpractice
The Jharkhand government has suspended mobile internet services on September 21 and 22 during the General Graduate Level Examination to prevent malpractice and ensure a fair testing environment for approximately 640,000 candidates.
In a proactive measure to uphold the integrity of the Jharkhand General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JGGLCCE), the state government has announced a suspension of mobile internet services on September 21 and 22, from 8 AM to 1:30 PM. This decision, announced by the State Government on September 20, comes as approximately 640,000 candidates are expected to participate across 823 examination centres. The government aims to deter malpractice, citing past incidents where individuals misused social media platforms to cheat. By temporarily disabling mobile data and Wi-Fi, authorities hope to eliminate potential loopholes that could compromise the examination’s fairness.
