Since his arrest in support of Munawar Faruqui in 2021, Indore's stand-up comedian Nalin Yadav finds himself persistently targeted by local goons and "affiliates of the ruling party." Narrating his ordeal in an Instagram post, Nalin wrote about a series of harrowing events since his arrest, including alleged violence orchestrated by individuals with affiliations to the ruling party. Nalin, in his post, recounted how troubles escalated upon his release, with his brother also becoming a target of brutality. He also attached a video of an attack on him and his brother in the post. Despite filing multiple FIRs against attackers, no action has been taken by the police, exacerbating their plight. Moving to a different city did not bring respite, as threats followed, culminating in an arrest warrant allegedly issued by the same goons. Further in the post, Nalin wrote, "We are financially and emotionally broke." Nalin, struggling to secure income after local clubs barred him from supporting Faruqui, had spent an additional 20 days compared to Faruqui.
