The Indian Army denied the media reports on Tuesday, that it carried out a surgical strike across the Pakistan border on August 21–22. Recently, the front page of a national Hindi daily said that four terrorist launch pads were demolished by the Indian Armed forces who had penetrated 2-2.5 kilometres inside Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the Niakal area of Kotli. The Army, however, did not corroborate the claims. Rather, the Army said that two terrorists were eliminated and a significant attempt at infiltration was thwarted at the Line of Control (LoC) in the Balakote sector's Poonch district.
