The Srinagar police have registered an FIR and named 16 Indian Army personnel, including three Lieutenant Colonels, for barging into a police station and allegedly assaulting cops in Jammu and Kashmir. The alleged assault incident occurred on Monday night, May 27, at a police station in border Kupwara district. The Indian Army personnel have been accused of abducting a police official and beating and injuring other cops with rifle butts, kicks and sticks. A video of the alleged assault has also gone viral on social media. The Army personnel have been booked for attempt to murder, rioting, abduction and robbery, among other charges of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
