A video going viral on social media shows a Karnataka High Court judge, Justice Vedavyasachar Srishananda, allegedly making gender-insensitive comments against a woman lawyer. In the 31-second video clip, Justice Vedavyasachar Srishananda is reportedly seen reprimanding a woman lawyer for answering a question that he put forth before the counsel for the opposite party. The video shows the judge telling the woman lawyer in a jest that she seems to know a lot about the opposite party. "You know everything of him. If asked tomorrow, you will tell what colour of undergarment he wears," Justice Srishananda is heard saying in Kannada. Surprisingly, the comment elicited smiles from the counsel before him. The video has led to outrage online, with several people demanding strict action against the judge. Senior Advocate Indira Jaising also shared the video and said that Justice Srishananda should be trained on gender sensitisation. POCSO Case Against BS Yediyurappa: Karnataka High Court Adjourns Hearing on Former CM’s Plea To Quash Case Against Him to September 27.
