Group Captain Varun Singh, the lone survivor of the IAF helicopter crash, which claimed the lives of CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife, and other armed forces personnel on board near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu's district last week, has passed away. Indian Air Force (IAF) informed about the demise of Group Captain Varun Singh on Wednesday. Group Captain Varun Singh was undergoing treatment at the Bengaluru Command Hospital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin condole the tragic demise of the braveheart and paid their tributes.
