CJI DY Chandrachud today, September 30, got miffed with a PIL seeking a probe against former CJI Ranjan Gogoi and his lawyer addressing the court with "ya ya". An advocate was arguing his writ petition and demanded an in-house inquiry against Justice Gogoi in relation to a service matter. However, when Justice DY Chandrachud questioned how one could file a PIL with the judge as a respondent, the lawyer said, "ya ya, the then CJI Ranjan Gogoi.... i was asked to file a curative." This irked CJI DY Chandrachud who told the lawyer that the court is not a coffee shop. "What is this ya ya.. i am very allergic to this ya ya. This cannot be allowed," he added. ‘No Part of India Can Be Called Pakistan’: CJI DY Chandrachud Reprimands Karnataka High Court Judge Justice Vedavyasachar Srishananda As Supreme Court Closes Proceedings on Suo Moto Case.
