Gautam, who had scolded the student for greeting the audience with “Jai Shri Ram” slogan, said that she has no problem with the slogans of Jai Shri Ram and that she herself observes nine days fast during the Navratri festival.

ABES Engineering College professor Mamata Gautam has now issued a video statement addressing the controversy. Gautam, who had scolded the student for greeting the audience with “Jai Shri Ram” slogan, said that she has no problem with the slogans of Jai Shri Ram and that she herself observes nine days fast during the Navratri festival. “The comments being made against me has left me concerned. I am a Sanatani Brahmin and we keep different rituals and traditions during Navratri for the entire nine days. We have never had a problem with the Jai Shri Ram slogan, if anyone makes more comments against me I will take action against them,” she can be heard saying in a video.
