In a disturbing video that surfaced online, a second year engineering student at Balapur's MVSR Engineering College in Hyderabad, was seen being stabbed to death on August 22, around 4:30 PM after an alleged dispute with four people near the Mandi@37 restaurant. The 21-year-old student, identified as Mondru Prashanth, laid in distress as onlookers made no attempt to help and rescue him. After the Balapur police was informed of the incident, they shifted Prashanth to the hospital but the doctors declared him "dead on arrival". Maheshwaram DCP Sunitha Reddy stated that there were three assailants in the attack and investigations are underway to detain them soon.
