The outdated social attitude that expects women to take care of the home was recently condemned by the Bombay High Court. According to a bench of Justices Nitin W. Sambre and Sharmila U. Deshmukh, both the husband and woman should share equally in family responsibilities in today's society. A husband's appeal against a 2018 family court ruling denying his divorce petition was being heard in court. The husband requested a divorce on the grounds that his wife was always on the phone with her mother, wasn't helping around the home, and forced him to go to work without breakfast.
