The Punjab and Haryana High Court recently said that merely because the wife did not serve tea to the relatives and friends of the husband or that she quarrelled over petty matters, it cannot be constituted as cruelty to form the grounds for divorce. The high court observed while dismissing an appeal filed by a husband who sought divorce on the grounds of cruelty. "No importance is required to be attached to such general and vague allegations.
