The Madhya Pradesh High Court recently said that a husband cannot escape the liability of maintenance by merely citing faults in his wife's pleadings. The court made the observation while dismissing a criminal revision application filed by the petitioner-husband. The High Court stated that a destitute wife claiming maintenance could not be victimised solely based on faults in her pleadings.
