The Kerala High Court has ruled that a child's custody to his mother cannot be rejected just because the woman is moving abroad for better work opportunities. The statement was made by a division bench comprising A Muhamed Mustaque and Sophy Thomas while hearing a plea filed by the mother of the child. A family court had denied the mother's attempt to take her child to New Zealand. As a result, the mother petitioned the High Court for solution. The mother was travelling to New Zealand for greater work chances, according to the High Court. In light of this, the Court ruled that her decision to relocate to another country should not be used to deny her child custody.
