Goods Train Derailment in Palghar Affects Mumbai-Surat Section: 41 Trains Cancelled, 18 Partially Cancelled and 9 Diverted, Says Western Railway

On May 28, 2024, a goods train derailed at point no. 117/118 in Palghar yard, impacting the UP line of the Mumbai-Surat section. As a result, several train services have been disrupted along this route, the Western railway said. A total of 41 trains have been cancelled due to the derailment while 18 trains are partially cancelled. Nine trains have been diverted to alternative routes, it said and added that the schedules of 22 trains have been adjusted. Additionally, Mumbai Suburban locals to and from Dahanu Road have been cancelled until 12 noon.
